Playing with Light was some experimental photography that I tried, it was my first attempt at something like this. A friend of mine was spelling his name out with a torch and this was the result.

  • This is cool! What camera do you use? Can you also share your camera settings? :-)

  • misterjester

Sure dude … this picture I do not remember the settings but it was a long exposure shot with 30 seconds .

    I use a Nikon D90.

  • ah lovely!!! Try out 60-sec exposure too will probably be able to see a lot more!! :D .

Btw, how many seconds ka exposure does the D-90 allow?

    • misterjester

The problem with the 60 second exposure is that, the background then becomes very visible which is a good thing if the background has some interesting element, like buildings and stuff … either way it gets the focus off of the light painting.

In fact there is more interesting stuff you can come up within 30sec to a minute

D90 gives a total of 30 minutes of exposure time :) you can actually catch the stars move (i.e focus on the stars and wait for the earth to move 30 mins)
